God demonstrates his love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Christianity is the good news about Jesus Christ: that he is the Son of God who reveals God to us, showed and taught us how to live, died to pay for our sins, rose again to defeat death and pioneer eternal life, poured out God’s Holy Spirit who gives us new spiritual life, and will return again to save all who trust in him.
Christianity is simple yet challenging. It is simple because it is all about trusting Jesus and seeking to obey him. It is challenging because it involves every aspect of life and because trusting and obeying Jesus doesn’t come naturally to us. Fortunately, God gives us plenty of help along the way, including the Bible to guide us, his Spirit to sustain us, other Christians to encourage us, and the assurance of his forgiveness and constant care.
